BREAKING: Walmart Announces New Partnership with Field Agent

Today, Walmart announced a new partnership with Field Agent, integrating the platform's on-demand capabilities into the retailer's Spark app, which coordinates freelance delivery drivers at 3,000 Walmart locations. With this partnership, the Spark app will offer tasks, provided by Field Agent, to drivers in-between deliveries.

The benefits? Maximized earning potential for Walmart's Spark drivers, and added value for Field Agent's clients: the suppliers and brands who request the tasks.

“When we pioneered the gig economy space back in 2010, we knew we were creating something special,” said Henry Ho, Field Agent's co-founder and Chief Strategy Officer. “We are confident that our on-demand platform can deliver the quality, speed and unlimited capacity Walmart needs. Additionally, Field Agent brings unparalleled retail expertise, which is essential in working with suppliers to implement a program at this scale.”

Here's how Spark drivers can earn with Field Agent's tasks:

Open the app: Drivers log in to the Spark driver platform and can choose between deliveries and tasks.

Pick a task: After opting in to the task program, they can browse from tasks that need completing in their area. The tasks are listed by Field Agent.

Complete the task: Drivers select the tasks they want to complete and follow Field Agent’s instructions. The tasks can be completed in 15 minutes or less.

Get Paid: Payment is deposited to the driver’s Field Agent account and they can cash out at any time. Drivers are paid per task.

“Over the years, Walmart’s proprietary Spark Driver platform has provided drivers more income-earning opportunities, and for many, it’s become a reliable means of complementing their livelihood,” said Tom Ward, senior vice president at Walmart U.S. “By adding task-as-a-service, we can help provide even more value for our drivers while also improving driver retention.”

Tasks include taking photos of in-store displays, monitoring on-shelf availability, price checks, and planogram compliance at retail locations nationwide. The Field Agent integration is currently being piloted in Nashville, Tennessee, Green Bay, Wisconsin and Rockford, Illinois with plans to roll out to more metro areas this year.

When it comes to seeing the retail landscape as shoppers see it, Field Agent's on-demand platform is trusted by companies and brands of all sizes. Read how Field Agent has solved retail challenges for Anheuser-Busch, Kraft Heinz, and General Mills.
